Directions:

  1. Place all the ingredients in a saucepan and bring slowly to the boil.
  2. Turn off the heat and allow the strawberries to stand, covered, in the saucepan for 2 to 3 minutes, depending on the size of the strawberries.
  3. Spoon into individual serving dishes and serve with creme anglaise or thick cream.
