Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (you could also use ground turkey or bison. i have used bison and you cannot even tell the difference)
  • 1/2 cup celery
  • 3/4 cup onion
  • 1 large green pepper
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomatoes or 1 (8 oz) can tomato
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Directions:

  1. Chop up all vegetables.
  2. Brown meat in a little bit of butter. Drain oil or fat if needed from the browned meat.
  3. Add all ingredients into one large pan.
  4. Simmer Uncovered for 2 hours until thick.
  5. Feel free to taste and season to your desire as it simmers after an hour. It all takes time to blend together to get its true flavor. I like to add a bit more vinegar and worcestershire sauce to add a kick.
