Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Mix dry ingredients together.
  3. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles a bowl of small marbles.
  4. Add milk and beaten egg white and blend well. Add more milk slowly if mixture is dry.
  5. Turn onto floured cutting board.
  6. Knead slightly.
  7. Roll out 1 inch thick.
  8. Brush with egg yolk evenly over top.
  9. Cut into diamond shapes.
  10. Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 to 20 minutes until top is golden brown.
