Grandma Myrt's Sugar Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup shortening
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp grated nutmeg
  • 2 1/2-3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Cream together sugar and shortening.
  2. Sift together dry ingredients.
  3. Mix together eggs, milk, and vanilla.
  4. Add dry ingredients and liquid ingredients alternately to creamed sugar/shortening mixture.
  5. Chill for one hour.
  6. Cut into rounds or shapes.
  7. Bake in a 350 degree oven until golden.
  8. Approximately 12 minutes.
