German Potato Soup

Ingredients:

  • 10 -12 medium sized potatoes
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 -2 tsp summer savory
  • 2 -3 cups buttermilk
  • 3 -4 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Peel, wash and cube potatoes.
  2. Add chopped onions and savoury.
  3. Add just enough water to almost cover the potatoes.
  4. Salt to taste.
  5. Boil until potatoes are tender.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Let cool a few minutes.
  8. Add cream and buttermilk.
  9. Return to medium low heat.
  10. Slightly thicken soup with flour and water mixture.
