Galaxy Fruit Pops (Marcela Valladolid)

Ingredients:

  • 1 small seedless watermelon , cut into 1/2-inch thick slices
  • 1 fresh pineapple, peeled , cut into 1/2-inch thick slices
  • lime wedges, for serving
  • special equipment: wooden ice pop sticks or skewers, cookie cutters in assorted shapes and sizes

Directions:

  1. Using cookie cutters or a paring knife, cut the watermelon and pineapple slices into desired shapes.
  2. Insert wooden sticks into the pieces of fruit.
  3. To serve: Sprinkle the ends of the fruit with chili powder. Put the pops on a plate, with the wooden sticks facing up for handles or stick the pops into a halved watermelon. Serve with lime wedges.
