Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cut butter into cake mix in large bowl, until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in egg and water until well blended.
  4. Shape dough into 1/2 inch balls and roll in the walnuts, pressing nuts gently into dough.
  5. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  6. Bake for 12 minutes or until puffed and nearly set.
  7. Place a chocolate star in the center of each cookie and bake for 1 minute more.
  8. Cool for 2 minutes on cookie sheets, then move to wire racks to cool completely.
  9. Makes 4 dozen cookies.
