Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 4 tsp cinnamon

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 deg. F.
  2. Combine the butter, sugar, and eggs in a large bowl and beat well.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Add the flour mixture to the creamed mixture and mix well. Roll the cookie dough into balls and set aside.
  4. For the coating: Combine the cinnamon and sugar in a shallow bowl. Dip each dough ball into this mixture so that it gets coated evenly.
  5. Now place the dough balls about 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes.
  7. Tips:
  8. Bake these cookies till the edges start turning brown. This will ensure that they are crisp outside and chewy and soft inside.
