Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups sifted all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg

Directions:

  1. Sift together dry ingredients
  2. With electric mixer, cream together margarine and crisco
  3. Beat in vanilla and egg with the creamed mixture
  4. Add dry ingredients and beat until smooth
  5. Grease your cookie sheet
  6. Drop a teaspoon at a time onto the cookie sheet
  7. Slightly flatten each cookie with the bottom of a glass or measuring cup that has been dipped in sugar
  8. Bake at 400 degrees for about 8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned
