Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Butter a 15 inch x 10 inch x 1 inch pan with 1 1/2 teaspoons butter set aside
  2. In a heavy saucepan, combine sugar and remaining butter
  3. Cook and stir over medium heat until a candy thermometer reads 290 degrees( soft crack stage)
  4. Remove from heat stir in almonds
  5. Immediately pour into prepared pan
  6. Sprinkle with 1 cup of the chocolate chips let stand until the chips become glossy........spread evenly over the top
  7. Sprinkle with 1 cup pecans
  8. Cover and refrigerate until set about 1 hour...........
  9. In microwave melt remaining chips
  10. Stir unti smooth
  11. Spread over toffee and sprinkle with remaining pecans..cover and refrigerate again for 30 minutes
  12. Then break into 2 inch pieces
  13. Store in an airtight container
  14. Yields 3 1/2 pounds candy.............
