  1. In a large bowl, combine butter,almond paste,2 ggs,granulated sugar and almond flavoring. Beat with electric mixer on med to high speed for 5 mins or till light and fluffy.. Add flour,blend well.
  2. Spread batter into 2 8 round cake pans that have been buttered,floured and lined with parchment paper. In a small bowl, beat 1 egg white with 1 Tbs water. Brush egg mixture on 2 cakes. sprinkle with sliced almonds and decorating sugar. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 to 42 mins. or till toothpick inserted near center comes out clean.
