Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 cups oatmeal
  • 1 1/2 cups flour

Directions:

  1. Cream together butter and sugars.
  2. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. Stir in salt, soda and flour, mixing well.
  4. Stir in oatmeal.
  5. Shape into 4 round logs.
  6. Wrap well in wax paper and chill.
  7. Slice 1/4-inch thick, place on baking sheets and bake at 350°F for 10 minutes.
  8. You can add 1 cup of any of the following if you wish for a variation: coconut, nuts, raisins or chocolate chips.
