Cream Cheese Filling for Cakes

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp grated lemons (optional, but really gives a nice flavor!) or 1 tbsp orange rind (optional, but really gives a nice flavor!)

Directions:

  1. In a bowl beat all ingredients until smooth.
  2. Layer half of the cake batter in pan.
  3. Top/spoon with the cream cheese mixture, then top with remaining cake batter.
  4. Bake as directed.
