  1. In a pan, cook bacon until crispy, add onion and garlic near the end so that the onion is caramelized and the garlic isn't cooked very much. Drain excess bacon fat.
  2. In a pot boil potatoes until tender, then drain off the water.
  3. Add cooked bacon and onions to pot of potatoes.
  4. Add enough milk to cover the potatoes well. Add dill, salt, and pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Add corn starch to achieve your desired thickness.
  6. Add clams, stir well, remove from heat. Let sit 5 minutes before serving.
