Cinnamon and Raisin Biscuits

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 1/4 cups confectioners' sugar

Directions:

  1. Combine flour, sugar, soda and 1/2 tsp cinnamon in bowl -
  2. Cut in 6 tbls butter until crumbly -
  3. Mix in raisins - add buttermilk.mixing to form soft dough.
  4. Knead lightly on floured surface.
  5. Pat into rectangle.
  6. Sprinkle generously with additional cinnamon.
  7. Knead lightly.
  8. Pat to 1/2 -3/4 thickness.
  9. Cut into biscuits.
  10. Placeo on baking sheets.
  11. Bake at 425* for 12-15 minutes or until light brown -
  12. Spread hot biscuits with vanilla glaze -
  13. To prepare VANILLA GLAZE:.
  14. Blend softened butter, milk, vanilla and confectioners sugar in a bowl -
  15. Spread over hot biscuits.
  16. Serve warm.
