Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. To make the pastry………
  2. Place flour , cocoa, sugar, butter , egg yolk, vinegar, and iced water in a blender or food processor and process for about 10 seconds or until mixture begins to bind
  3. Wrap in foil and chill for 30 minutes
  4. Dust working surface with cocoa, roll out pastry to fit a 9 inch ( 23 cm) removable base flan tin or an oven proof flan dish
  5. Fill case with foil then pastry weights
  6. Bake in moderately hot oven 375- 400 degrees f. for 10 minutes
  7. Remove foil and weights and cook for another 10 minutes
  8. Cool completely……
  9. To make the filling…………
  10. Beat the custard with mixer, pour in melted chocolate while mixer is still running, pour in cream , add sugar
  11. Mix until combined
  12. Dissolve gelatin in 3 tablespoons cold water…..
  13. Stir in double broiler pan over simmering water until dissolved
  14. Stir in custard/ and chocolate mixture…
  15. Pour mixture onto the cooled pastry shell………..chill until set
  16. To make topping………..
  17. Melt chocolate with butter in double broiler over simmering water
  18. Quickly spread over the top of the pie using a spatula
  19. Decorate with icing sugar and chocolate leaves..or whatever you want to put on top
  20. Chill until served
  21. Serves 8
