Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1-1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
  • 1 eggs
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped nuts or large pecan pieces optional
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips- if nuts are omitted, add 1-1/2 cups nuts omitted- add 1-1/2 cups

Directions:

  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Cream butter, brown sugar, milk and vanilla in a large bowl. Blend until creamy. Blend in egg.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt, mix well. Gradually add to creamed mixture.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
  5. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet about 3 in. apart. (I use parchment paper on the cookie sheet).
  6. Bake for 8-10 min. for chewy cookies (they will look light and moist- do NOT OVERBAKE). 11-13 min. for crisp cookies
  7. Cool on cookie sheet 2 min. Then remove to wire cooling rack.
