  1. In a saucepan, combine the rice mix and seasonings with water. Add 2 tablespoons butter or margarine, if desired (not counted in the Nutrition Facts). Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 40 minutes. Turn off heat. Stir in peas and carrots and let stand on heat for 5 more minutes. Makes 6 half-cup servings.
