Chewy Strawberry Walnut Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup sweeetened flaked coconut
  • 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg

Directions:

  1. FOR CRUST- Heat oven to 350°F Combine flour, brown sugar and butter in medium bowl; mix until crumbly.
  2. Press into abottom and 1/2 inch up sides of 13x9 inch baking pan.
  3. Bake 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
  4. Spread preserves over the hot crust.
  5. For topping- combine topping ingrdients; mix well.
  6. Spoon over preserves.
  7. So not too completly cover preserves.
  8. Bake 35 minsutes or until browned and bubbly all over.
  9. Cool completely.
