Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup soft butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • dash of cayenne
  • 2 tsp finely chopped chives
  • 1 1/2 cup sifted flour

Directions:

  1. Combine 1/2 pound (about 2 c ) shredded cheese with 1/2 c soft butter, 1/.2 tsp salt, dash of cayenne, 2 tsp finely chopped chives and 1 1/2 c sifted flour. mix until smooth dough forms. divide in half and shape each into a log about 1 in diameter. wrap in waxed paper and chill. slice into 1/8 slices and bake on lightly greased cookie sheet in oven (350) for 10 minutes. or until lightly browned.
