California Golden (Apricot) Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 cups walnuts, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups apricot jam

Directions:

  1. Beat sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
  2. Stir in flour and nuts.
  3. Spread half batter in grease 9 x 13 pan.
  4. Spread jam evenly over batter.
  5. Cover with remaining batter.
  6. Bake at 325 for 45 - 50 minutes.
  7. Cool slightly, cut into bars.
