Ingredients:

  • butterscotch nut bread
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. melted butter
  • 3/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • preheat oven to 350 degrees. grease an 8 inch loaf pan. beat together
  • egg and brown sugar in a large bowl until smooth. add butter and beat
  • to blend. sift together flour, baking powder and baking soda in a
  • small bowl. stir in salt. add flour mixture to batter alternately
  • with buttermilk in 2 additions. beat until well mixed. stir in nuts.
  • pour batter into prepared pan and bake 60 minutes until a toothpick
  • comes out clean. cool 15 minutes in pan. invert loaf onto a rack and
  • makes 1 loaf.
