  1. Brown the ground beef with the chopped onion in a non stick skillet on medium heat. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper as it browns. Drain the cooked meat and onions in a colander and then return to the skillet.
  2. Add the can of cream of chicken soup and let this simmer on medium low heat for about 10 minutes to let the flavors combine. As this is cooking cook your pasta in salted boiling water until tender then drain. Add the canned mushrooms to the ground beef mixture and heat through. When you are ready to serve add the sour cream and heat through again. Serve over the warm egg noodles. You can add as little or as much garlic as you like, same for the salt and pepper. I like it with lots of both. This is comfort food on a budget.
