Briscoe's Irish Brown Bread (Bread Machine)

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups buttermilk (or 5 tbsp dry powder and 1 1/4 cups water)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp butter or 1 1/2 tbsp margarine
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp oat bran
  • 1/3 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp caraway seed
  • 3 tbsp raisins

Directions:

  1. Place all ingredients in bread pan, select Light Crust setting, and press Start.
  2. After the baking cycle ends, remove bread from pan, place on cake rack, and allow to cool 1 hour before slicing.
