Ingredients:

  • 2 cups beaujolais or other fruity red wine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups blueberries

Directions:

  1. Combine the wine and sugar in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil; cook until sugar dissolves, stirring occasionally. Add blueberries; return to a boil. Cook 1 minute. Remove from heat, and cool. Spoon blueberry mixture into a blender; process until smooth. Cover and chill.
  2. Pour mixture into the freezer can of an ice-cream freezer; freeze according to manufacturer's instructions. Spoon into a freezer-safe container; cover and freeze at least 1 hour.
