Ingredients:

  • 2 cup flour
  • 1 2/3 cup sugar or splenda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 2/3 cup sour milk or buttermilk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cup ( 3 or 4 ) mashed banannas
  • 2/3 cup chopped nuts

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients thoroughly and pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 x2 pan. bake at 350 for 35 to40 min.
  2. No buttermilk ? no problem! just add 1 Tbs. white vinegar to 1 c. milk OR put 2Tbs. lemon juice in glass meas. cup then add milk to equal 1 cup.
