Banana-Stuffed French Toast Sunday Morning Yummy!

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices of day old bread , 2 inch slices
  • 3 small bananas , each cut into 12 diagonal slices
  • 8 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Insert a small sharp knife into the side of the crust and carefully cut a small horizontal pocket directly into the middle of each slice of bread.
  3. Stuff each slice with 6 slices of banana.
  4. In a bowl using a whisk, beat the eggs, milk, syrup and nutmeg until foamy.
  5. Pour into a shallow bowl.
  6. Soak each stuffed slice until soaked; turn once.
  7. Melt butter in a large skillet and sauté over medium heat until lightly browned; turn once.
  8. Transfer slices to a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes and dust with powered sugar and serve fast!
