Aunt Rhoda's Caramel Corn

Ingredients:

  • 6 quarts popped popcorn
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

Directions:

  1. Place popcorn in large bowl and set aside.
  2. In saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  4. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Remove from heat.
  6. Stir in vanilla and baking soda, mix well.
  7. Pour over popcorn and stir until well coated.
  8. Pour into 2 greased 13X9 pans.
  9. Bake uncovered at 250 for 45 minutes.
  10. ,stirringevery 15 minutes.
  11. Cool and store in airtight container.
