Ingredients:

  • 4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup crisco
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 3 tbsp sugar

Directions:

  1. Sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add yeast, water and sugar followed by buttermilk. Add enough buttermilk to make dough. Roll out and cut with biscuit cutter. let rise for about an hour and bake at 400 for 15-18 minutes. Dough can be refrigerated for several days before using.
