Ingredients:

  • 2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
  • 2 cups sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:

  1. Soak gelatin in 1/2 cup applesauce for 10 minutes.
  2. In a heavy saucepan, bring remaining applesauce, sugar and salt to a boil; add gelatin mixture and boil for 15 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add nuts and vanilla.
  3. Pour into a greased 11x7 baking dish. Cover and let set for 48 hours before cutting into squares and rolling in powdered sugar.
