Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup applesauce or 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • oil (for deep frying at 375f)

Directions:

  1. In large bowl, combine flour, sugar and next 5 ingredients.
  2. Combine pumpkin, milk, oil, vanilla, and eggs.
  3. Stir into dry ingredients.
  4. Drop by teaspoons, into hot oil, 5 or 6 at a time.
  5. Fry 1/12 to 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Drain on paper towel.
  7. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon in a paper bag.
  8. Shake drops in this mixture while warm.
