Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. *Use big pyrex bowl - I use 8 cup measuring cup... or 2 cup pyrex cup if just one person.
  2. *Peel apples Remove core. Fill Bowl.
  3. *Cut apples in Quarters
  4. *Pour 1/3 cup of lemon juice on apples
  5. *Use Handful of Red Hots- the more red hots candy used, the sweeter and the more red the apple sauce will be. Add brown sugar and amount contingent upon local taste. Experiment with different amounts until you find the proper ratio of tart apples to sweatness of final product.
  6. *Use microwave 80% & 8 minutes. More time or less time depending upon how chunky you want the sauce.
  7. *For variety add walnuts, pecans, rasins, cramberries, all spice, nutmeg, etc.
  8. *Whatever is not eaten today, put in plastic bag and put in freezer or tomorrow morning add apple sauce to oat meal or any other cooked cereal.
