Directions:

  1. Instructions: Cream brown sugar and margarine with mixer. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture. Mix well. Stir in chopped apples and nuts. Spread into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake 35-40 minutes at 350 degrees.
  2. Icing: Brown butter slightly; remove from heat. Sift sugar and add to butter. Add vanilla and milk. Stir, drizzle over cooled brownies.
