Almond Crust Cherry Cream Pie

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Use your favorite piecrust recipe or a ready-made crust.
  2. Roll it out and place in 9-inch pie pan.
  3. Press almonds into crust.
  4. Bake according to directions in recipe or on package.
  5. Cool.
  6. To make filling: Mix sweetened condensed milk with whipped cream, almond extract, vanilla extract and lemon juice.
  7. Stir until it thickens.
  8. Pour into baked pie shell.
  9. For cherry glaze: Drain cherries and pour juice into saucepan.
  10. Set cherries aside.
  11. Add sugar, cornstarch and food coloring to pan.
  12. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until thick and clear.
  13. Add cherries to juice mixture.
  14. Spread glaze over cream filling.
  15. Chill 2 to 3 hours before serving.
