Ingredients:

  • 24- vanilla- flavored caramels unwrapped
  • 3- tbsp plus 2 tsp milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/2- tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Place the caramels , milk, and salt in a small, heavy saucepan and set over moderately low heat
  2. Cook until the caramels melt down, about 9 to 10 minutes
  3. Stir from time to time with a wooden spoon or flat wooden paddle
  4. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer for 1 minute
  5. Use the topping immediately
  6. Note;………..for a nutty turtle topping , make the topping above spread it on then sprinkle the chopped nuts over it ……your choice
  7. Makes 3/4 cup……..
