Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup canola oil
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1/4 cup butter

Directions:

  1. Mix with electric mixer the following:.
  2. 2 cups of flour.
  3. 1 1/2 cups of sugar.
  4. 1 cup canola oil.
  5. 1 cup buttermilk.
  6. 1 cup baby food prunes.
  7. 3 eggs.
  8. 1 tsp vanilla.
  9. 1 tsp baking soda.
  10. 1 tsp cinnamon.
  11. 1/2 tsp salt.
  12. And chopped pecans.
  13. Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour at 300 degrees.
  14. In a lightly greased and floured 9x13 baking pan.
  15. In the last 5 minutes of baking, make the sauce to pour over cake IMMEDIATELY after removing from the oven.
  16. Sauce:.
  17. Combine all in a medium sauce pan:.
  18. 1 cup sugar.
  19. 1/2 cup of buttermilk.
  20. 1/4 cup of butter.
  21. 2 tsp vanilla.
  22. 1/2 tsp baking soda.
  23. DO NOT BEAT! Boil for 1 minute.
