  1. Combine sugar, butter, syrup boil and reduce heat.
  2. Add potatoes and keep basting cook covered on low heat only turning one time,after 15 minutes.
  3. Then remove cover keep basting with cover off for at least another 15 mintes
  4. I have only used fresh potatoes. I think the can would make it to juicy and would not get so thick. I suggest you cook or bake the potatoes and forget using can.
