Sugared Peanuts

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 -3 drops cochineal (red colouring)
  • 1 (250 g) packet raw peanuts

Directions:

  1. Put all ingredients into a frypan. The nuts should be in a single layer only.
  2. Keep the peanuts moving from the outside to the centre of the frypan so they are all coated evenly.
  3. Boil and stir until the water and sugar have dissolved.
  4. Allow the peanuts to cool.
  5. Eat!
