Ingredients:

  • 1 lb walnuts
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • orange juice to deglaze

Directions:

  1. Cook walnuts in oil in an oven-proof skillet for a few minutes.
  2. Add sugar and cook until sugar is melted.
  3. Pour orange juice around edges of skillet to deglaze and toss the walnuts in it.
  4. Drain; roast coated walnuts in a 350 oven and stir ever 5 minutes.
  5. Continue to roast for a few more minutes watching so not to burn.
  6. Cool on sheet pan and stir once or twice to cool completely
  7. When cooled put into an air tight container.
  8. This recipe doesn't have exact measure ment because walnuts (or any kind of nut can be tempermental in the oven. I have burned my share. I would alternate the oven temperature ands put on a lower setting so it is more like drying the walnuts then roasting them.
