Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 cup cake flour
  • 2 1/3 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 8 eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Sift: flour, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Cream: sugar and butter.
  3. Beat egg yolks until it nearly makes peaks, then beat into butter mixture.
  4. Combine with flour and milk alternating.
  5. Add: vanilla and lemon juice(or rind).
  6. Pour into two greased 2 x 8 round cake pans.
  7. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.
