Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. In a small bowl dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water.
  2. Let stand until foamy, 10 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl combine dry ingredients.
  4. Add oil to yeast mixture.
  5. Make a well in center of dry ingredient.
  6. Add yeast mixture.
  7. If mixture is too dry, add a tblspoon of water at a time until dough is smooth and elastic.
  8. Knead 8 minutes.
  9. Oil a large bowl.
  10. Place dough in oiled bowl making sure to flip dough so both sides are covered with oil.
  11. Place a piece of plastic over the bowl and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled.
  12. Turn dough onto floured board, and divide into 12 pieces.
  13. Roll each piece into an 16 inch long rope.
  14. Twist into a pretzel shape.
  15. After pretzels are all formed, let rise for 30 minutes.
  16. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  17. Make water bath, mix 4 cups simmering water and 1/2 cup baking soda.
  18. Dip pretzels into water bath, flip after about 30 seconds on each side.
  19. Place pretzels on WELL OILED baking sheet (I foil-line then grease cookie sheet).
  20. Sprinkle with kosher salt or desired topping.
  21. Bake 10 minutes/ until browned.
  22. Enjoy!
