Sesame Seed Wafers

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups sifted flour

Directions:

  1. Toast sesame seeds by spreading them on a cookie sheet and roasting them in a 350 degree oven for about 4 minutes.
  2. They should be watched because they burn easily and quickly.
  3. Cream butter, add sugar and beat till light and frothy.
  4. Add eggs, one at a time, beating constantly.
  5. Sift together flour and baking powder and combine with butter-sugar
  6. Mixture.
  7. Mix until thoroughly blended.
  8. Stir in vanilla and sesame seeds.
  9. Rop dough by the teaspoon about 2 inches apart on greased cookie
  10. Sheets.
  11. Bake in 350 degree oven for 10 minutes or till edges are brown.
  12. To prepare ahead: Bake a few days ahead and store in airtight tin. (Connie used a plastic container and they became soft.She refreshed them in the oven and stored them in the refrigerator. Not as good as same day but acceptable.)
