Ingredients:

  • 2 cup sesame seeds (10 oz)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 2 tbsp marg or butter

Directions:

  1. On 15 x 12 jelly roll pan toast sesame seeds in preheated 350 degree oven 15 mins until light brown.
  2. Place seeds in 3 quart saucepan with syrup, sugar, water and marg.
  3. Wipe out jelly pan and grease well.
  4. Over medium heat stir sesame mixture til it boils.
  5. Cook without stirring til candy thermometer registers 266 or small amount of mixture dropped in cold water forms a ball that holds its shape.
  6. Stir in baking soda.
  7. Turn out into pan and with grease spatula or spoon, spread quickly to 1/4 inch thickness.
  8. Cool. Break into irregular pieces.
