Ingredients:

  • 4 3/4 cups flour , sifted
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp lukewarm water
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 lbs english walnuts
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk (scald with butter)
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Directions:

  1. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
  2. Scald milk.
  3. Add butter and sugar cool to lukewarm.
  4. Add yeast and well beaten eggs and salt.
  5. Add 1/2 of the sifted flour.
  6. Rise until double in bulk.
  7. Knead in remaining flour.
  8. Roll to 1/8 inch thick.
  9. Filling.
  10. Grind nuts as fine as possible.
  11. Combine all ingredents .
  12. Spread 1/4 of filling on 1/4 of dough and roll like cinnamon rolls.
  13. Place in greased loaf pan folding under ends.
  14. Brush with beaten egg.
  15. Bake 350 for 1 hour.
