Perfect Pecan Bars

Ingredients:

  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted )
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (firmly packed)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 eggs

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Reserve 3/4 cup of cake mix; set aside.
  3. Combine remaining cake mix with melted butter and 1 egg.
  4. Mix until crumbly.
  5. Press in bottom of greased 13 x 9 inch baking pan.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Combine the reserved cake mix with brown sugar, corn syrup, vanilla and 3 eggs.
  8. Mix until well blended.
  9. Pour over baked crust; sprinkle with pecans.
  10. Return to oven and bake for 35 minutes.
  11. Cool and cut into squares.
