Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 cups sliced pears
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 6 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1-1/2 tbsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1-1/2 tbsp butter

Directions:

  1. Cream sugar and butter together then add eggs and mix well.
  2. Blend flour, salt and baking powder together and add to mixture.
  3. Mix soda with milk and vanilla then mix all together.
  4. Add pear slices and pour batter into a buttered baking dish.
  5. In a separate bowl combine brown sugar, flour, cinnamon and butter mixing until crumbly.
  6. Sprinkle over pear batter then bake at 350 for 45 minutes.
  7. Serve hot with ice cream.
