  1. PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES F. GREASE A 13 X 9 X 2 INCH GLASS BAKING DISH WITH SHORTENING
  2. FOR COOKIE BASE, COMBINE BROWN SUGAR, SHORTENING, EXTRA CRUNCHY PEANUT BUTTER, WHITE SUGAR AND EGG IN A LARGE BOWL. BEAT AT MEDIUM SPEED WITH A MIXER UNTIL WELL BLENDED
  3. COMBINE FLOUR, BAKING POWDER, AND SALT, GRADUALLY ADD TO CREAMED MIXTURE AT LOW SPEED, BEAT UNTIL WELL BLENDED.
  4. COVER, REFRIGERATE 15 MINUTES.
  5. PRESS CHILLED COOKIE BASE INTO PREPARED DISH.
  6. BAKE 20 MINUTES OR UNTIL LIGHT BROWN.*****DO NOT OVERBAKE******* COOL 2 TO 3 MINUTES.
  7. FOR TOPPING***************
  8. PLACE CREAMY PEANUT BUTTER IN A MICROWAVE - SAFE MEASURING CUP, MICROWAVE ON HIGH FOR 1 MINUTE.
  9. POUR OVER BAKED SURFACE, SPREAD TO COVER ALL.THEN COVER WITH MARSHMALLOWS, DRIZZLE CHOCOLATE SYRUP OVER MARSHMALLOWS .
  10. RETURN TO OVEN BAKE 5 MINUTES OR UNITL MARSHMALLOWS ARE SLIGHTLY BROWN...........DO NOT OVERBAKE..........
  11. LOOSEN FROM SIDES OF DISH WITH A KNIFE
  12. REMOVE DISH TO COOLING RACK COOL COMPLETLEY
  13. CUT WITH SHARP GREASED KNIFE INTO BARS ABOUT 2X2 INCHES .......
  14. YIELDS 2 DOZEN BARS
