Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cup water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 &1/2 lb raw peanuts (4 cups)
  • 1 tsp baking soda heaping

Directions:

  1. Butter cookie sheets (not included in the amount above). Pour peanuts into a bowl and add salt and toss. Set aside. Combine sugar, Karo, water and 2 tbsp butter into a heavy sauce/stockpot. Cook over medium low until temp reaches 230 degrees. Add peanuts when it reaches temp. Stir vigorously so as to not burn. When temp reaches 295 degrees take off burner and add baking soda. Stir vigorously till light. Pour onto buttered cookie sheets spreading from the middle out, thin as possible.
