Ingredients:

  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 1/2 cups flour

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cook apples in molasses until thick; cool.
  3. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Spread in 9 inch square pan. Bake in preheated 350°F oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tests done.
