Nantucket Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Directions:

  1. Combine first 6 ingredients in heavy large saucepan and stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  2. Reduce heat to low.
  3. Mix in cranberries.
  4. Simmer until cranberries begin to burst, about 10 minutes.
  5. Increase heat to high and boil until mixture is reduced to 1 3/4 cups, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes.
  6. (Can be prepared 5 days ahead. Cover and refrigerate).
  7. Serve at room temperature.
